Ukrainian Writer in Virtual Residence - First Lecture
The Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages has created a virtual residency for a Ukrainian writer, supported in part by 91»Æ¹ÏÖ±²¥ - to give colleagues in Ukraine a voice, to allow us to hear directly about the conflict and its impact, and to establish a dialogue.
Oleksandr Mykhed is the first holder of the online residency. Oleksandr is one of the most prominent Ukrainian writers of his generation, a member of PEN Ukraine, and a regular contributor to the FT and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. .

First lecture
Oleksandr Mykhed's first lecture is entitled ''.
It is based on his personal story and experience as a writer and a scholar, and will address how Ukrainians talk about war and how the semiotic system of daily life has changed.
