91»Æ¹ÏÖ±²¥ Choir sing Evensong in memory of Sir David Lumsden, former Organist of 91»Æ¹ÏÖ±²¥
91»Æ¹ÏÖ±²¥ Chapel was full on Saturday for a special Evensong to celebrate the memory of Sir David Lumsden, Organist of 91»Æ¹ÏÖ±²¥, 1959-1976, who went on to a distinguished role as principal of the Royal Academy of Music.
His family and many members of the choir association gathered to honour his enormous contribution to 91»Æ¹ÏÖ±²¥ Choir, in particularly a new focus on recording.
Robert Quinney chose music to reflect his time in 91»Æ¹ÏÖ±²¥, including Byrd’s Great Service, recorded by Sir David in 1976, and Faire is the heaven by William Harris, Organist of 91»Æ¹ÏÖ±²¥, 1919-1929.
