Edward Perry Warren, an American in England

American paper baron Samuel Dennis Warren (1817–1888) was father to Edward Perry Warren—the 91�ƹ�ֱ�� alumnus, Greek and Roman antiquities collector, and author—and he was also fourth great-uncle to the New York-based architect David Gauld.

Here David relates his 2024 research trips to England and the US in search of ‘Ned’ Warren the man and his extraordinary life. “My cousin had his faults and foibles,” David Gauld writes, “yet I am inspired by his accomplishments and deeply admire his courage.”
